What Your Donation Supports

Every gift helps sustain and expand GIYO programs for students across Coastal Georgia. Your donation supports music education, performance opportunities, and access to instruments and lessons.

The Golden Isles Youth Orchestra is governed by a board of local directors who raise the GIYO’s annual budget from individuals, family foundations, and organizations, all of whom believe that symphonic music should be an integral part of the lives of all children. The many programs and the community outreach of GIYO could not exist without the generosity of such donors.

Jonathan Truluck, GIYO Alum

From the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band to the Savannah Bananas Pep Band… “I love music and where it has taken me. All the things I didn’t plan on have been best for me because I am open to what comes my way. There is always a place for music, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.”

– Jonathan Truluck, GIYO Alum

Douglas Marshall, Golden Isles Elementary music instructor

“The String-On! program sparks an interest in many 5th grade students to continue learning not only the violin but other instruments, as well. It gives them a chance to see that they can be successful at something they didn't think they could do. Watching kids gain confidence as they progress through the String-On! week is really cool to see!”
